The Birthday Paradox
Is it rare to find two people with the same birthday? The answer might surprise you!
Using google slides for this learning experience made it easy to quickly test and iterate, and provides most of interactivity that I needed to test with users.
Project summary
When I was a youthful English major, I was forced to take probability and statistics to meet a graduation requirement. IT turned out to be one of the most enjoyable learning experiences I've ever had. One reason was the way my teacher regularly introduced new ideas with concrete examples that employed a time-tested narrative device: the plot twist!
I wanted to try translating one of these magical classroom experiences into an asynchronous online activity. This project is a "medium fidelity" proof of concept prototype for an interactive learning experience introducing the tension between human intuition and the laws of probability.
Role
I designed and created this using Google Slides.
